On this day, Yoo Seung Ho became an adult at the same time as the singers IU, T-Ara's Jiyeon, SHINee's Taemin, and the actor Lee Hyun Woo etc, who were also born in 1993.

A source close to Yoo Seung Ho said in a verbal message that they would not do any special commemoration for the Coming-of-Age Day in the army. However, during the upcoming weekend,YooSeung Ho's parents decided to go and visit their son.

Fans didn't forget this Coming-of-Age Day and sent congratulatory messages such as "Our Seung Ho, congrats for the Coming-of-Age Day" or " We wish you to do well during your military service".

Yoo Seung Ho, who enlisted at the age of 20 years old in the army as a military 102 draft active duty after the end of MBC's drama 'Missing You', drew attention by taking a different path from all the young entertainers who usually postpone their enlistment as much as they can.

[INTERVIEW] Yoo Seung Ho - Star Gravure Special Interview

From a child actor to an adult actor
Yoo Seung Ho

Excellent performance of Hyung Jun, whose madness is making him collapse

The buzz cut boy who appeared in the movie 'The Way Home' and received attention has grown in 10 years into a handsome young man.
Yoo Seung Ho, who played the character Harry (Kang Hyung Jun) who overflows with madness in the drama 'Missing You', amazed the viewers with his overwhelming acting.

- What was your impression of Harry when you read the script for the first time ?
A person who is ostensibly quiet and intelligent, and who has a bit of a serious image like an asset manager. I could feel Harry's charm in his ambivalent appearanceand the way he lives to take his revenge. Plus, the drama in its whole was interesting. Even though at the beginning it was only a little (laugh) there was a love story, and it was mixed with a thriller so it seemed really interesting.
-Did you have some difficulty to portray the character?
I think maybe almost nobody empathized with Harry. Since his love is excessively obsessional, I think it's hard for ordinary people to understand (him). Harry is strongly obsessed about love and I think his way to love was wrong. So it was a bit hard to portray him.
However, I think we can fully understand his crazy feelings if we consider the fact that, even though he loved a woman and cherished this love for 14 years, it collapsed in an instant. So when I acted, I wanted to express Harry's rage as much as possible. It was hard to understand his anger, but I acted faithfully to the script so that the viewers can think 'Can it be ?'

During then, the viewer understood Harry's attitude, and I also slightly understood (him) when I watched the drama.
-Harry was a character whose personality doesn't match with his appearance, how about you ?

It seems like there are a lot of people who think that I don't get angry, but just like Harry it also happens that I can't hold back my anger. Does it mean that my personality is different from my image ? (laugh) When I get mad, I yell or also take it out on people around me even though it's not something I should do. Am I similar to Harry on this point? However, I think that 'this can't do' so I make an effort to control my anger.
Harry was a man who would do anything to get Soo Yeon, but as for me, if talking (with her) still didn't work, then I'll just have to let her go (laugh)

- What is the scene that you still can't forget until now ?

The scene where Harry meet his mother again after 14 years and the one where he is in the car and say 'I am Hyung Jun, don't call me Harry !'
This is when I thought that this child (Harry) was beginning to become weird (laugh)
Even though he was Hyung Jun he hated being called like that, and when he said after 14 years with his own mouth 'My name is Hyung Jun. Don't call me Harry !", I felt that from this moment, he would begin his revenge for real.

- Harry is a character who is uncomfortable with his leg. Wasn't it difficult for you when you acted?

It was hard. I held a canein my left hand and I had to be lame in my right leg, so when I was absorbed in my acting, it also happened that I was lame in my left leg (instead).

-What was your impression of Park Yoochun and Yoon Eun Hye ?
When I first met with Yoochun hyung, I felt a big pressure. You know, he is a very famous person, and he also have that charisma that make you feel like you can't approach him easily. However, during the first script practice, Yoochun hyung asked me 'What do you like ?' and talked to me about a lot of things. I really liked that.
And about Eun Hye noona, she really helped me during the filming. Even when I had to film a close-up, she stood behind the camera and helped me to adjust my look (to stare at the camera).
Filming is difficult and tiring so there are people who don't help others but Eun Hye noona didn't ignore (me) even once and helped me.
I thought that I had to learn that too.

-Can we say that you broke free from your child actor image through this drama ?

I can't say that I totally broke free but I think I still did a bit. I feel really honored by your words.
I really did all my best to break free from this child actor image that people around me have since the beginning, so I'm really thankful to this drama. I acquired a lot of things through this drama.
When I was young, I did as the director and other people told me to, but now, if I can't understand the script (by myself), it's a problem. I have to be responsible of my acting.
I act, and then either I receive compliments or critics, everything is due to me. This is something that is different from the time when I was a child. Because of all these reasons, this work (drama) has become really important to me.

More Questions to YOU SEUNG HO
Q1. You played the piano in the drama and during your fan meeting. How much did you practice ?
A.When I was young, I liked the piano so I learnt (how to play) once, but I ended up hating it so I stopped halfway. However, one day, I suddenly wanted to play the piano again.
At this time, especially since I didn't have any hobby and I had heard people wondering why I didn't have something I liked doing, I started learning again.
Like, I thought it would be cool if I knew how to play an instrument (laugh)

Q2. Tell us about some fun episodes when you thought 'I'm happy' or 'This is funny !' during the filming.

A.Yoochun hyung is really fun !
We didn’t have a lot of scenes together but we got close to each other and if we began to find something funny, we both wouldn't stop laughing (laugh)
Plus, sometimes, when Yoochun hyung cracked a joke or did something like that, Eun Hye noona too would laugh hard so all three of us would laugh together, and so it also happened that we halted the filming (laugh)

Q3. Harry had built a secret room in his house, but if Seung Ho also were to build one, what kind of secret room would it be ?
A. I would like a room where I can display all the scripts from all the shootings I did until today. If I gathered all the scenarios and scripts from the all the shootings I did until now, then it would be a really big amount, you see. It's a bit regretful that I didn't keep them from the beginning…
But I'll keep being an actor in the future so if I build that secret room and put the scripts only in it, I think it will be great.
Q4. In December, you held your first fanmeeting in Japan, what it your impression of the Japanese fans you met?

A. It was different from Korean fan meetings and it was really fun. More fans than expected came to my fan meeting. I can't dance or sing on stage so I thought about what to do to spend a great time and we did some games and played scenes. It was really fun and time really flied too fast.

Q5. In the future, what kind of actor do you want to become ?

A There are people who say to me that through this drama, I turned from a child actor into an adult actor. Plus, there are also people who say to me "You're great!" "You're handsome!" "You're amazing!" so I'm extremely happy.
There are still a lot of things that I'm lacking, but one day I want to become an actor who shows a new appearance and surprise everyone.
